Jiuzhaigou Valley Itinerary, Plan a 2 or 3 Days Trip in Nine Villages Valley
When planning an itinerary for Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong, consider allocating at least three days: one day to explore the colorful pools and limestone formations of Huanglong, and two days to fully experience the stunning lakes, waterfalls, and cultural sites of Jiuzhaigou Valley.
2 Days Jiuzhaigou Valley Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Jiuzhaigou
Arrive at Huanglong airport in morning, be met and transferred to Jiuzhaigou, check into your hotel, head to Jiuzhaigou National Park and start your visit at the Shuzheng Valley. Explore Shuzheng Village and admire the Shuzheng Lakes. Visit the Nuorilang Waterfall, one of the park's iconic landmarks.
Day 2: Jiuzhaigou and Departure
Morning tour to the Rize Valley, visiting Panda Lake and the Five Flower Lake, known for their vibrant colors. Explore the Primeval Forest at the end of the Rize Valley, taking in the serene atmosphere. Afternoon to the Zechawa Valley, visit Long Lake, the largest and highest lake in Jiuzhaigou, offering breathtaking views. Continue to Five-Color Pond, known for its crystal-clear and colorful water.
3 Day Jiuzhaigou Valley Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Jiuzhaigou
Arrive at Huanglong Airport, be met and transferred to visit Huanglong National Park. Drive to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou later in afternoon. Take some time to rest and acclimate to the altitude.
Note: trains are available between Chengdu and Zhenjiangguan where you can take a bus or hire a private car to Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou.
Day 2: Tour of Jiuzhaigou Valley
Visit Rize Valley, Panda Lake, known for its turquoise waters and reflections. Continue to Five Flower Lake, famous for its stunning colors and underwater tree trunks. Take a shuttle bus to the top of Rize Valley and visit the Primeval Forest, a serene and picturesque area. Descend and stop at Pearl Shoal Waterfall, a cascading waterfall that's easy to walk around. Explore the Mirror Lake, where you can see the reflection of surrounding mountains on a calm day.
Day 3: Jiuzhaigou and Departure
Visit the Zechawa Valley, known for its long and tranquil lakes. Stop at Long Lake, the largest and highest lake in Jiuzhaigou, offering stunning views. Explore the Shuzheng Valley, where you can learn about the local Tibetan culture. See the beautiful Shuzheng Lakes and the Nuorilang Waterfall, a wide and scenic waterfall.
