7 Days Beijing Itineraries: How to Plan a One Week Travel in Beijing

Based on years of customizing tours, we have specially provided the following 7-day travel routes and some travel tips to help you on your Beijing trip!

7 Days Beijing Classic Itinerary

Day 1: Walk through Tian’anmen Square, explore both the popular areas and private rooms of the Forbidden City, gain a panoramic view of Forbidden City by climbing the Jingshan Park

Day 2: Set your feet on Jinshanling Great Wall, shoot the sunset with your camera, and spend overnight at Jinshanling Great Wall area

Day 3: Get up earlier for the sunrise shooting, then drive to Gubei Water Town and visit Simatai Great Wall with cable car, drive back to Beijing

Day 4: Take a photography tour in Hutong (Nanluoguxiang and Xi Si Hutong), and appreciate the largest sandalwood Buddha in the world in Yonghegong Lama Temple

Day 5: Do morning exercises at Temple of Heaven, put on Han Chinese clothing and take some nice pictures at Beihai Park

Day 6: Buy some souvenirs at Panjiayuan Antique Market, pay homage to Confucius at Temple of Confucius, visit Guozijian Ancient Imperial School, and appreciate some art works at 798 Art Zone

Day 7: Take a morning tour to the imperial Summer Palace and take a boat cruise, see the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube from the outside at Olympic Park and appreciate countless treasures at Capital Museum.

Beijing Itinerary

7 days Beijing Highlights itinerary

Day 1: Visit the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. Take a stroll through Tiananmen Square and the nearby hutongs.

Day 2: Take a day trip to the Great Wall of China, either at Mutianyu or Badaling.

Day 3: Explore the Summer Palace and the Old Summer Palace. Take a boat ride on Kunming Lake.

Day 4: Visit the Capital Museum, the National Museum of China, or the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Day 5: Take a trip to the Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way.

Day 6: Visit the 798 Art Zone, a hub for contemporary art and culture.

Day 7: Take a day trip to Fragrant Hills Park or the Yonghe Temple.

Note: These are suggestions and you may adjust according to your interests and energy level. Also consider the opening time of these places and plan accordingly.
