Nepal and Tibet offer a diverse range of experiences, from trekking in the Himalayas to exploring ancient temples and monasteries. A popular itinerary for a trip that combines both Nepal and Tibet might include the following:

Kathmandu, Nepal: Begin your trip in Kathmandu, where you can explore the city's rich cultural heritage, including the famous Pashupatinath Temple and Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple).

Everest Base Camp, Nepal: Take a trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, where you can see stunning views of Mount Everest and experience the unique culture of the Sherpa people.

Lhasa, Tibet: After your trek, fly to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Spend several days exploring the city's many cultural and historical sites, including Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Norbulingka Palace.

Yamdrok Tso Lake: Take a drive to Yamdrok Tso lake and explore the lake and its surrounding, which is one of the four holy lakes in Tibet.

When is the best time to visit Nepal an Tibet

The best time to visit Nepal is during the dry season from October to May, particularly in the months of October and November when the weather is clear and mild, allowing for spectacular views of the mountains, and avoiding the heavy monsoon rains that occur from June to September which can make traveling difficult and limit visibility.

The best time to visit Tibet is during the months of April to October when the weather is generally mild and dry, with warm daytime temperatures and cool nights, and most of the tourist sites and attractions are open and accessible, however it's important to note that temperatures can still drop dramatically at higher elevations, and travelers should be prepared for the high altitude conditions.

10-day Nepal and Tibet Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal - Explore the city of Kathmandu, including its famous temples and historic sites, such as the Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa, Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 5: Lhasa - Visit the iconic Potala Palace, the former residence of the Dalai Lama, Explore the Jokhang Temple, one of the most sacred temples in Tibet, Walk around Barkhor Street and shop for souvenirs, Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 6: Lhasa to Gyantse - Drive to Gyantse, a town located between Lhasa and Shigatse, Visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery and the Kumbum Stupa, which is famous for its beautiful murals and architecture, Stay overnight in Gyantse.

Day 7: Gyantse to Shigatse - Drive to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet, Visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama and one of the most important monasteries in Tibet, Stay overnight in Shigatse.

Day 8: Shigatse to Lhasa - Return to Lhasa, Visit the Drepung Monastery, one of the three great Gelug university monasteries of Tibet, Explore the Norbulingka Palace, the summer residence of the Dalai Lamas, Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 9: Lhasa - Take a day trip to Namtso Lake, one of the most beautiful and sacred lakes in Tibet, Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and take a hike around the lake, Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 10: Depart from Lhasa - Depart from Lhasa and return home or continue your travels in Asia.

Note: This itinerary is just a suggestion, and you can customize it according to your interests, budget, and time constraints. Also, keep in mind that altitude sickness is a common concern in Tibet, and you should acclimate to the high altitude gradually and stay hydrated throughout your trip.

14-day Nepal and Tibet itinerary

Day 1-3: Arrive in Kathmandu and spend some time exploring the city and its temples, such as Pashupatinath and Swayambhunath.

Day 4-5: Take a flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Spend some time acclimatizing to the high altitude and exploring the city's historic sites, such as the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple.

Keep in mind that in order to enter Tibet, you need to have a special permit and it's best to travel with a tour operator who is familiar with the regulations.
