5 days Anhui itinerary for family with kids
Day 1: Arrival in Huangshan and visit Tunxi Ancient Street
Arrive in Huangshan, where your guide will meet you at Huangshan North Railway Station or Tunxi International Airport. Spend the afternoon exploring Tunxi Ancient Street, sampling Hui-style snacks and browsing traditional handicraft shops.
Day 2: Explore Huangshan Scenic Area
In the morning, drive to Huangshan Scenic Area (approx. 1 hour's drive). Take the Yungu Cable Car to the summit and enjoy an easy walk to Beginning-to-Believe Peak and Black Tiger Pine. Descend by cable car and return to your hotel.
Day 3: Visit Emerald Valley and Hongcun Ancient Village
In the morning, head to Emerald Valley (approx. 20 minutes' drive), where children can enjoy streams, waterfalls, and crystal-clear pools.
In the afternoon, Hongcun Ancient Village (approx. 30 minutes' drive) to explore its famous ancient lanes, feed fish in Moon Pond, and admire traditional Huizhou architecture.
Day 4: Visit China Xuan Paper Culture Park and Taohuatan
Explore the China Xuan Paper Culture Park (approx. 1 hour's drive). Watch skilled craftsmen demonstrate the traditional papermaking process and enjoy a hands-on Xuan paper-making experience, where both adults and children can make their own sheet of paper to take home as a unique souvenir.
In the afternoon, visit Taohuatan (approx. 30 minutes' drive) for a relaxing walk along the riverside made famous by Li Bai's poem A Farewell to Wang Lun.
Day 5: Discover Chaji Ancient Village and Departure
In the morning, visit Chaji Ancient Village (approx. 30 minutes' drive), one of Anhui's best-preserved ancient villages. Wander through quiet lanes, ancient bridges, and traditional Huizhou residences.

5 days Anhui itinerary for Seniors with Slow Travel Pace
Day 1: Arrival in Huangshan and Tunxi Ancient Street
Arrive in Huangshan, where your private guide will meet you at Huangshan North Railway Station or Tunxi International Airport. Transfer to your hotel and unwind with a relaxing soak in the Huangshan Hot Springs.
In the evening, stroll along Tunxi Ancient Street, browse traditional handicraft shops, and enjoy a Huizhou ink-rubbing experience, creating your own souvenir inspired by one of China's traditional arts. Stay overnight in Huangshan.
Day 2: Huangshan Scenic Area
Drive to Huangshan Scenic Area (approx. 1 hour's drive). Take the Yungu Cable Car to the summit and enjoy a leisurely walk-through White Goose Ridge, Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Black Tiger Pine, and the Beihai Scenic Area. Descend by the Yuping Cableway.
Day 3: Hongcun Ancient Village – Wuyuan
In the morning, head to Hongcun Ancient Village (approx. 1 hour's drive). Wander through its tranquil lanes, admire the elegant Huizhou architecture, and enjoy the reflections of ancient houses in Moon Pond.
Continue to Yantian Ancient Camphor Garden in Wuyuan (approx. 1.5 hours' drive), where centuries-old camphor trees create a peaceful countryside setting.
Stay overnight in Wuyuan.
Day 4: Huangling Scenic Area
Take the cable car to Huangling, one of China's most picturesque ancient villages. Enjoy a leisurely walk along Tianjie Street and Huaxi Water Street, then admire the panoramic views of traditional Hui-style houses from the viewing platforms. In autumn, the village is famous for its colourful Shaiqiu (harvest drying displays).
Return to your hotel in Wuyuan for a relaxing evening.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the railway station or airport for your onward journey.
5 days Anhui itinerary for Young Travelers
Day 1: Arrival at Jiuhua Mountain and Discover the Buddhist Atmosphere
Arrive at Jiuhua Mountain. Spend the afternoon strolling through Jiuhua Old Street, where you can admire the peaceful atmosphere and sample traditional Buddhist vegetarian dishes, such as Luohan Vegetarian Delight and Vegetarian Chicken.
Day 2: Jiuhua Mountain Adventure – Tiantai Peak and Shiwang Peak
Visit Jiuhua Mountain, one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains Begin your day with a ride on the Baisuigong Cable Car for panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Visit Baisui Palace, home to the well-preserved mummy of Monk Wuxia, before continuing to the Hall of the Incarnate Body, the spiritual heart of Jiuhua Mountain.
In the afternoon, take the shuttle bus to the Tiantai Cableway and ride to the upper scenic area. Hike to Tiantai Peak to enjoy spectacular mountain scenery. On clear days, you may be rewarded with breathtaking sunset views and a sea of clouds. If time and energy permit, continue along the mountain ridge trail to Shiwang Peak, the highest summit of Jiuhua Mountain, for sweeping 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Stay overnight on Jiuhua Mountain.
Day 3: Jiuhua Mountain – Huangshan Scenic Area
After breakfast, travel to Huangshan Scenic Area (approx. 1.5 hours' drive). Take the Yungu Cableway to the summit and explore Beginning-to-Believe Peak, famous for its ancient pine trees, including the Black Tiger Pine and Lovers' Pine. Continue to the Beihai Scenic Area for magnificent views of Monkey Gazing at the Sea, then hike the western loop of the spectacular Xihai Grand Canyon, one of Huangshan's most dramatic landscapes.
Stay overnight at a mountaintop hotel, such as Beihai Hotel or Guangmingding Hotel, for the unforgettable experience of watching the sunrise the following morning.
Day 4: Sunrise over Huangshan and visit Tunxi
Rise early to watch the spectacular sunrise from Bright Summit or Danxia Peak, where the sea of clouds creates one of Huangshan's most iconic views.
Continue your hike via Flying-over Rock to the Yuping Scenic Area, where you can admire the world-famous Greeting Guest Pine and enjoy views toward Tiandu Peak. Descend by the Yuping Cableway, then transfer to Tunxi (approx. 1 hour's drive).
Day 5: Explore Hongcun Ancient Village, Huizhou Cooking Experience and Departure
In the morning, head to the UNESCO World Heritage village of Hongcun (approx. 1 hour's drive). Wander through its peaceful lanes, admire the reflections in Moon Pond and South Lake, and discover the charm of traditional Huizhou architecture.
Later, join a Huizhou cooking class, where you'll learn to prepare local specialties under the guidance of experienced chefs. Enjoy the dishes you've created.

Descend by the Yuping Cableway before returning to Tunxi.
Day 4: Xidi Ancient Village – Nanping Village
Explore to Xidi Ancient Village (approx. 1 hour's drive), a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its elegant Hui-style architecture, intricate wood and brick carvings, and centuries-old ancestral halls.
Continue to Nanping Village, where you can visit historic clan mansions, pick fresh vegetables from a local organic farm, draw water from an ancient well, and join a hands-on Huizhou cooking class to prepare authentic local dishes.
Day 5: Huizhou Ancient City – Departure
In the morning, visit to Huizhou Ancient City (approx. 1 hour's drive). Explore one of China's best-preserved ancient cities, including the Huizhou Prefecture Government Office, the magnificent Xu Guo Stone Archway, and the charming old streets lined with traditional Hui-style buildings.
