4 Days Anhui Itinerary for Family with Kids
Day 1: Explore the Tunxi Old Street
Arrival at Tunxi, meet your private guide and transfer to hotel in Tunxi (Huangshan City) Check in and have a short rest. Visit Tunxi Old Street, a lively pedestrian area with centuries-old buildings, traditional snack stalls, and craft shops.
Day 2: Adventure Huangshan Mt. (Yellow Mountain)
In the morning, wake up early and transfer to Huangshan Scenic Area (approx. 1 hour’s drive). Take the Yungu Cableway up the mountain, Walk from White Goose Ridge to gentle scenic spots like: Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Lion Peak, Brush Pen Peak etc. Optional: visit a short section of West Sea Grand Canyon (First Ring only) if kids are energetic.
Stay overnight in a mountain hotel like Baiyun Hotel or Beihai Hotel.
Day 3: Feel the Charm of the Sunrise and Village
Catch the sunrise at Bright Summit, take Yungu Cableway down the mountain. Head to Hongcun ancient village (approx. 1 hour’s drive), explore this picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site, kids can feed fish at Moon Pond. Join a cooking experience in village, visit the old traditional houses in the village, Let the kids enjoy picking organic vegetables from farm, get water from old well and experience healthy and authentic local cuisines.
Day 4: Admire Xidi Ancient Village
Visit Xidi Ancient Village, another UNESCO-listed gem with a history over 900 years. visit highlights such as Dacheng Hall and Hu Wenguang Archway to experience the rich legacy of Huizhou merchant culture.
Back to Tunxi old street, try some authentic Huizhou flavors such as Braised Salted Mandarin Fish and Mao Tofu, visit Yang Wen Brush Workshop, where you’ll try your hand at making a traditional Chinese calligraphy brush.
Transfer to Huangshan North Railway Station or Tunxi Airport for departure.
4 Days Anhui Itinerary for Seniors with Slow Travel Pace
Day 1: Arrival in Huangshan
Arrive in Huangshan, where your private guide will meet you at Huangshan North Railway Station or Tunxi International Airport. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing soak in the Huangshan Hot Springs, one of the area's most famous natural attractions. Stay overnight at a hot spring resort.
Day 2: Huangshan Scenic Area
Drive to Huangshan Scenic Area (approx. 20–30 minutes’ drive). Take the Yungu Cable Car to the summit and enjoy a leisurely walk to Beginning-to-Believe Peak and Black Tiger Pine, taking in the breathtaking granite peaks and ancient pine trees. Descend by cable car and return to your hotel.
Day 3: Xidi Ancient Village – Tachuan
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage village of Xidi (approx. 1 hour’s drive), renowned for its well-preserved Huizhou architecture, ancestral halls, and exquisite brick and wood carvings. In the afternoon, continue to Tachuan Village, a peaceful countryside village famous for its traditional Huizhou houses and spectacular autumn foliage.
Day 4: Lucun Village – Qishu Lake – Departure
Explore Lucun Village, known for its magnificent wood-carved residences, including Zhicheng Hall and Siji Hall. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing walk along the boardwalk at Qishu Lake, surrounded by tranquil waters and rows of dawn redwoods, before departing.
Travel Tip: Reserve Huangshan entrance and cable car tickets in advance during weekends and public holidays.
4 Days Anhui Itinerary for Young Travelers
Day 1: Hefei – Mating Road – Baimajian Peak
Drive from Hefei and enter the scenic Mating Road (approx. 2.5 hours’ drive), then continue through its most picturesque section before arriving at Baimajian Peak. the highest summit of the Dabie Mountains. Stay overnight at a countryside guesthouse.
Day 2: Tianmiao Road – Yuexi County
Continue along Tianmiao Road (approx. 40 minutes’ drive), often nicknamed Anhui's "Qinghai-Tibet Highway" for its dramatic mountain scenery. Admire rolling clouds, alpine meadows, and panoramic mountain views before arriving in Yuexi County, where you can sample local mountain cuisine.
Day 3: Yaoluoping National Nature Reserve
Spend the day exploring Yaoluoping National Nature Reserve (approx. 1 hour’s drive), home to pristine forests, rare wildlife, and scenic hiking trails. Visit the former headquarters of the Red 28th Army to discover the area's revolutionary history.
Day 4: Mingtang Mountain – Hefei
Visit Mingtang Mountain, walk across its thrilling glass skywalk, and enjoy breathtaking mountain views before driving back to Hefei.
Travel Tip: Autumn (October to November) is the best time to visit, when the mountains are covered in brilliant autumn colors.
4 Days Culture Tour in Anhui
Day 1: Hefei – Taohuatan – Chaji Ancient Village
Drive from Hefei to Taohuatan (approx. 3 hours' drive), the inspiration for Li Bai's famous poem A Farewell to Wang Lun. Visit the Wanjia Hotel Ruins and Huaixian Pavilion, then continue to Chaji Ancient Village (approx. 30 minutes' drive), one of Anhui's largest and best-preserved ancient villages. Stay overnight in a traditional Huizhou-style guesthouse and enjoy seasonal local specialties such as bamboo shoots and freshwater shrimp.
Day 2: Xuanzhi Culture Park – Longchuan Village
Discover the history of Xuan paper, watch master craftsmen demonstrate the traditional papermaking process, and visit the workshop producing the famous Three-Zhang-Three Giant Xuan Paper.
Continue to Longchuan Scenic Area in Jixi County (approx. 1 hour's drive). Visit the Hu Clan Ancestral Hall and the Yishi Shangshu Archway, two masterpieces of Huizhou architecture.
Day 3: Jiangcun Village – Qinglong Bay
Explore Jiangcun Village (approx. 1 hour's drive), renowned for its ancestral halls, ancient residences, and well-preserved clan culture.
Continue to Qinglong Bay Eco-tourism Resort (approx. 1 hour's drive). Enjoy a relaxing boat cruise surrounded by forested mountains and tranquil waters.
Day 4: Shuidong Ancient Town – Departure
In the morning, head to Shidong Ancient town (approx. 1 hour's drive), Stroll through Town, sample local specialties such as Shuidong candied dates and handmade wontons, before departing.
