Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou Valley Travel Itinerary
3 days Jiuzhaigou valley itinerary
Day 1: Start the day early and arrive at the park entrance as soon as it opens to avoid crowds. Begin with a visit to the Nuorilang Waterfall, which is one of the largest and most impressive in the park. Take some time to walk around and admire the scenery, and take some photos. Next, head to the Shuzheng Valley and visit the Shuzheng Lakes. These are a series of interconnected lakes with crystal-clear water and stunning scenery. After the Shuzheng Lakes, continue on to the Rhinoceros Lake, which is known for its mirror-like reflection of the surrounding mountains. Take some time to walk around the lake and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, you can watch the local Qiang people perform traditional dances and songs.
Day 2: Start the day by taking the shuttle bus to the Zharu Valley. This is a less visited area of the park, but is just as beautiful as the more popular spots. Hike to the Zharu Temple, which is a Tibetan-style temple located in the forest. Along the way, you will pass by beautiful waterfalls and streams. After the temple, continue hiking to the Five-Color Pond. This is a small but incredibly beautiful pond with a variety of colors that change throughout the day. In the evening, head back to the park entrance and visit the Jiuzhai Folk Culture Village, which showcases the local culture and history of the region.
Day 3: On your final day, head back to the park entrance and take the shuttle bus to the Long Lake. This is a long, narrow lake surrounded by forests and mountains. Hike along the lake and visit the Reed Lake, which is known for its floating reeds and clear water. Finally, head to the Pearl Shoal Waterfall, which is another impressive waterfall with stunning views. You can take a short walk along the boardwalk to get closer to the waterfall. After the Pearl Shoal Waterfall, it's time to say goodbye to Jiuzhaigou Valley and head to your next destination.
4-day itinerary for visiting Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou Valley
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu and Transfer to Huanglong, Fly into Chengdu and transfer to Huanglong by private car or bus (about 5 hours). Check in at your hotel and rest.
Day 2: Huanglong Scenic Area, Start early and head to Huanglong Scenic Area, known for its colorful pools and unique limestone formations. Take a cable car up to the top of the mountain and hike down to enjoy the scenery. Visit the Five-Color Pond, Huanglong Temple, and other attractions. Return to your hotel in the evening.
Day 3: Jiuzhaigou Valley, Leave early in the morning for Jiuzhaigou Valley (about 1 hour drive). Spend the day exploring the stunning natural beauty of the valley, including waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes, and towering mountains. Visit attractions such as the Nuorilang Waterfall, Mirror Lake, and Pearl Shoals Waterfall. In the evening, return to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou.
Day 4: Jiuzhaigou Valley and Departure, Spend the morning visiting other attractions in Jiuzhaigou Valley such as the Shuzheng Valley and Zharu Valley. After lunch, depart for Chengdu (about 8 hours) or catch a flight from Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport. Arrive in Chengdu in the evening and depart for your next destination.
4-day Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou Valley itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the city and its attractions, such as the Wuhou Shrine and Jinli Old Street. In the evening, enjoy a hot pot dinner, a famous Sichuan dish, at a local restaurant. Head back to your hotel for the night.
Day 2: In the morning, take a flight to Jiuzhaigou Valley, which usually takes around 1.5 hours. Check into your hotel in Jiuzhaigou Valley and spend the afternoon visiting the Huanglong Scenic Area, known for its breathtaking natural scenery and colorful ponds. Return to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Spend the day exploring Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its crystal-clear lakes, waterfalls, and forests. You can take a shuttle bus to the park's entrance and then explore on foot or rent a bicycle to ride around. In the evening, enjoy a local Tibetan dinner and cultural performance at a local restaurant. Return to your hotel for the night.
Day 4: Take an early morning flight back to Chengdu and depart from Chengdu to your next destination or back home.

Day 1: Chengdu

Day 2: Chengdu
Take a morning visit to Wuhou Temple, a historical and cultural site dedicated to the famous military strategist Zhuge Liang, Visit the People's Park and enjoy a cup of tea at the teahouse while watching the locals practice Tai Chi, In the afternoon, explore the Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is the world's largest stone Buddha statue.
Day 3: Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou Valley
Take an early flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou Valley (about 1 hour and 20 minutes), Check into your hotel in the valley, Spend the day exploring the natural beauty of Jiuzhaigou Valley, including the multi-colored lakes, waterfalls, and forests, Don't miss the famous Five-Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal Waterfall, and Nuorilang Waterfall.
Day 4: Jiuzhaigou Valley
Continue exploring the stunning landscape of Jiuzhaigou Valley by visiting attractions such as the Shuzheng Valley, Zharu Valley, and Long Lake, After a full day of sightseeing, head back to your hotel to rest up for your departure the next day.
Day 5: Jiuzhaigou Valley to Chengdu
Check out of your hotel in Jiuzhaigou Valley and take a flight back to Chengdu (about 1 hour and 20 minutes), Arrive in Chengdu and check into your hotel, Spend the day exploring more of Chengdu's attractions or indulge in some shopping or foodie experiences, You can visit Wenshu Monastery, a well-preserved Buddhist temple with beautiful gardens, or explore the traditional architecture and shops of Kuan and Zhai Alley, Alternatively, you can taste more Sichuanese cuisine, such as Dan Dan noodles, mapo tofu, and kung pao chicken, In the evening, relax in a traditional hot spring or enjoy a night out in the lively bars and clubs of the city.
