5 Days Huangshan Itinerary for Family with Kids

Day 4: Step into Huizhou History and Hidden Villages

Day 5: Boating on the Taiping Lake

Day 1: Arrival in Tunxi

Wake early to see the sunrise spectacle at Bright Summit. After breakfast, visit One-Line Sky, Lotus Peak, Greeting Pine, and around 4.5km/2.5h hiking, full length hiking at West Sea Grand Canyon (Bucket-List Hike for adventure lovers), then hike down from front mountain.

Head to Hongcun Ancient Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its crescent-shaped Moon Pond and photogenic alleys.

Day 4: Ancient Streets and Living History

Head to Huizhou Ancient City in the morning to explore historical archways, temples, and merchant mansions. Shop for local Maofeng tea, inksticks, and Huizhou crafts.

Visit Xidi ancient village, admire the Hui-style architecture and experience traditional papermaking which is one of China’s most ancient crafts.

Day 5: Nanping, Tunxi

From Xidi to Nanping village, join a cooking experience in Nanping village, visit the old traditional houses in the village, pick organic vegetables from farm, get water from old well and experience healthy and authentic local cuisines.

Return to Tunxi Old Street for a final stroll through its charming alleys.
