Huangshan, also known as Yellow Mountain, is a popular tourist destination in Anhui province, China. It is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including pine trees, rock formations, and hot springs.

2 Days Huangshan Itinerary for Family with Kids

Day 1: Explore Nature and Ancient Villages

Start your family journey by arriving in the city of Huangshan and heading to the famous Hongcun Ancient Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful layout, ancient architecture, and tranquil scenery. Kids will love watching fish in the crescent-shaped Moon Pond, while adults can appreciate the elegant Hui-style homes. After lunch in the village, visit the nearby Xidi Village for more traditional charm and peaceful countryside walks.

In the evening, head to the Huangshan Scenic Area and check in at a hotel near the mountain base or mid-mountain area for a restful night. Be sure to prepare warm clothes and light hiking gear for the next day’s adventure!

Day 2: Marvel at the Peaks of Mount Huangshan

Begin your exploration from Yungu Station, and enjoy the breathtaking views along the trail to landmarks such as Beginning-to-Believe Peak and Black Tiger Pine. Let kids look out for rock formations shaped like animals, it is an imaginative treat for young explorers. Continue to Bright Summit for a family photo with panoramic views of the surrounding sea of clouds. Walk to Flying-over Rock and enjoy a snack break at a scenic rest area. In the afternoon, descend by cable car and visit the Hotspring Resort at the foot of the mountain, where both adults and children can relax in soothing mineral waters after a day of hiking.

Before leaving, stop by the local market for some Huangshan specialties such as maofeng tea and inkstones as souvenirs of this memorable family adventure.

2 Days Seniors Itinerary of Huangshan

Day 1: Arrival Huangshan, Enjoy hot spring on Huangshan, stay overnight at Huangshan Hot Spring Resort.

Day 2: Huangshan, Yungu cable car ascent, Beginning-to-Believe Peak; Black Tiger Pine, Enjoy sunset at Cloud Dispelling Pavilion. Backe to Tunxi and Departure.

2 Days Huangshan Itinerary for Young Travelers

Day 1: Arrival Tunxi, Tunxi to Huangshan, Hike from Yungu temple up to Stone Monkey Watching the Sea, around 10.5km/5h hiking.

Day 2: Huangshan, around 4.5km/2.5h hiking, full length hiking at West Sea Grand Canyon

2 Days Huangshan Hiking Itinerary

Day 1: Take a morning flight or train to Huangshan and check into your hotel, Visit the Yellow Mountain Scenic Area and take a cable car up to the peak. Hike to some of the most popular attractions, such as the West Sea Grand Canyon, the Beginning-to-Believe Peak, and the Lion Peak. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Chinese dinner and catch the sunset from the peak.

Day 2: Wake up early to see the sunrise from the peak, Hike down the mountain, and visit Tunxi Old Street, a historic street with shops, restaurants, and traditional buildings, Take a hot spring bath at a local spa to relax your muscles after the hike. In the evening, take a train or flight back to your next destination.

2 Days Culture Tour in Huangshan

Day 1: Tunxi Old Street · Ink Culture

Take a morning flight or train to Huangshan and check into your hotel. Visit Tunxi Old Street to start the day, visit traditional shops selling inkstones, brushes, teas, wood carvings, and local snacks, if you interesting Chinese brush culture, you can stop at the Yang Wen Brush Workshop to learn about Hui-style brush making, and try your hand at assembling your own calligraphy brush.

Day 2: Hongcun Village · Huizhou Ancient City

Explore Hongcun Ancient Village (UNESCO Site), famed for its crescent-shaped Moon Pond and iconic Anhui-style architecture. The entire village resembles an ox, with winding canals like intestines and the Moon Pond symbolizing the stomach, an ingenious blend of design and symbolism. Continue to Huizhou Ancient City, one of China’s best-preserved historical cities, with a history dating back to the Qin Dynasty. If time permits, try Huizhou-style calligraphy or visit a local museum or teahouse for a relaxing cultural close.
