National Forest Park

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located in northwestern Hunan which is located in the middle of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou Provinces. Many 5A scenic areas and geological parks are located there. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a place with strange looking peaks and a dense forest. It is composed of Huangshi Village, Golden Whip Brook and Pipa Stream, Yaozizhai Mountain and Shadao Channel where you can find the largest viewing deck in Huangshizhai Mountain.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located in the Zhangjiajie of northwestern Hunan, 32 kilometers from downtown. The park covers 4,810 acres. The highest peak, Wangyue Peak is 1,334 meters and the lowest Shui Rao Si Men that is 426 meters. The annual average temperature is 12.8 ℃ and annual average precipitation is 1,228.5 millimeters. It is a part of the boreal climate zone in the mid-subtropical area.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Management Office was found in 1983 and is responsible for managing Zhangjiajie and Yuanjiajie Village, which has a forest coverage area of 4,810 acres, a forest coverage rate of 98% and timber storage of 350,000 meters cubed. The population in the park is 3,800, including 1,500 staff in the management office. The park is famous for its silica sands peaks. Today there are many touring routes including, Huangshi Zhai, Golden Whip Brook, Yaozizha Village and Yuanjiajie and 130 scenic areas. The park not only has natural wonders, but also rich animal and plant resources. There are 93 families, 517 types of timber, 720 decorative plants, 13 families, 41 types of birds and 28 types of animals. Thus, it is known as a natural botanic garden and kingdom of animals. With the development of tourism, the park has changed over time. It has become an entity of agriculture, forestry, business and tourism from forest business. It brought domestic and overseas tourists and good economic and social benefits. Since the establishment of the park, it served 160 millions of tourists at home and abroad with 2.7 billion tourist income.

The forest coverage rate is 98% with 93 families 517 types of timbers, including 7 rare national first-grade protected species which is twice that in Europe. Also, there are 41 species of birds and 28 animal species, including 7 national protected rare animals. The scenery is known for its wonder. There are 3,800 peaks with a height varying between 100 meters to 300 meters. it is green all year round.
