A Brief Introduction to Sanya
Beach, shallow water and seafood are the three eternal themes when it comes to having a vacation in Sanya. Located in the southernmost part of Hainan Island, Sanya has a summer-like climate all the year round with fully blossoming flowers in a riot of colors. Sanya has long been crowned as "Hawaii of the East". Along the nearly 200-kilometer costal line lie such bays as Yalong Bay, Dadonghai and Sanya Bay. The coconut trees are so lush that they form a green forest. The interlacing east and west islands add more to the vision of the boundless expanse of the blue sea. Boasting the best-preserved coral reefs in China, Wuzhizhou Island enjoys a reputation as "the best diving base in China".
Luxurious holiday inns scatter all around Sanya with various newly-developed entertaining facilities of high grade. Such entertaining activities as hot spring, spa, salt water fishing on yachts and golf are developing rapidly with their increasing popularity amongst the vacationists, catering for various luxurious needs. Such activities as playing with the sands, picking seashells, catching crabs and watching the sunset do not cost you a lot, but you will definitely get a bang out of them. In addition, an increasing number of Chinese and foreign visitors start to regard Sanya as the best place for taking wedding photos and honeymoons.
Apart from the three greatest seaside holiday resorts, there are still many places of interest in Sanya. The Buddhist Culture Tourist District in Nanshan Mountain is characterized by the exquisite statues that come embracing the themes of eco and Buddhist cultures; in the End of the Earth scenic area, you can see the statues of the great names in history with waves lapping against them; in the Luhuitou Park on the peak of the mountain, the lifelike figure statues tell you the beautiful stories of the moment when a deer turns around.
