The best time to travel in Shanghai is in spring and autumn, generally from March to May and September to November. Spring with flying willow and peach and orioles is the most suitable season for having an outing on the outskirts. Tourists can enjoy peach flowers and taste peaches in the Nanhui. Autumn with red maples is the best time to have a taste of steamed crabs which are rich in the crab spawn and thick in its fat and delicious in its meat. However, you should keep in mind that Shanghai citizens will go out at the time before or after the Tomb Sweeping Festival so that it is very crowd to go to the neighboring cities.

 

Shanghai is a typical subtropical ocean monsoon climate, distinct in fours seasons and mind and abundant in rainwater. The hottest time in Shanghai is from July to August from which, temperature above 35 degrees are more than 10 days. Therefore, it is unsuitable to take activities outdoor. The coldest time is from January to February.
