The giant panda, also known as Ailuropoda melanoleuca, is a native to south central China. The panda’s characteristics include large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over its ears, and across its body. Although it is a carnivore, its diet is over 99% bamboo. Pandas in the wild occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, as well as bird, rodent or carrion meat. The earliest panda lived on the earth approximately eight million years ago. As a result, pandas are hailed a living fossil. It is designated by many conservations as an endangered species. Sichuan has many things to offer other than the giant panda. Qingcheng Mountain, with its time-honored history, originates from Taoism. Many places of interest can be found in the mountain and the architectural style of the buildings there won’t fail to attract its visitors. There, handwritten poems are everywhere to be found.
