Explore the more than 3000 year-old Beijing, one of the most celebrated capitals in the world and a huge treasure trove of ancient wonders. Walking across Tiananmen Square, the biggest of its kind in the world, you can see Tiananmen Rostrum and several monuments and get into the Forbidden City.

The royal palace of Ming and Qing Dynasty, Forbidden City is now China’s best and largest ancient culture and art museum, known as Palace Museum. See the world’s best-preserved ancient wooden structural palace and many valuable collections.

Experience Beijing’s folklores and cultural essence on a hutong rickshaw tour, and witness the historical changes of royal Beijing.

Forbidden City

Admire the magnificent religious architectural complex of Temple of Heaven, an imperial sacrificial altar dating the first half of 15th Century, where Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors worshiped the gods for a prosperous country.

Then take the Great Wall cable car to the mountain top to view this awe-inspiring ancient fortification. From your knowledgeable tour guide, you’ll learn the history of the Great Wall, and why and how it was built.

Tour Summer Palace – the best classical garden in China with exquisite palace and temple complex built against Wanshou Hill and bridges over Kunming Lake. Enjoy a relaxing boat cruise surrounded by intoxicating scenery.

Summer Palace

Visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the morning - the best time to observe the pandas when they are most active and having fun in the natural habitat. Also know more about giant pandas’ history, lifestyle and breeding research results.

Apart from the pandas, Chengdu is also famous for Sichuan cuisine. Have a visit of Sichuan Cuisine Museum where there are various cooking utensils of different historical periods are on display. Savor delicious local specialties on the food street and learn to cook Chinese dishes in a cooking class.

Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center

Discover the cultural riches of Chengdu. Join the locals to have a relaxing time at Chengdu Renmin Park, where you can listen to traditional folk music, watch performances of diabolo and Sichuan Opera, enjoy the ear cleaning service, and sample local tea at quaint teahouse.

Then visit Wenshu Monastery, Chengdu’s best preserved temple blending delicate, elegant garden art, and Wuhou Ancestral Hall, a Three Kingdom Period (220-280) historical site to memorize Emperor Liubei and the legendary “Zhuge Liang”.

Have a walk around Jinli Ancient Street, where the West Sichuan style timber houses are illuminated by red lanterns, before flying to Jiuzhaigou.

Wuhou Ancestral Hall

Known for its "four wonders" - colorful pools, snowy mountains, serene canyons and lush forests, Huanglong Scenic Area is the best-preserved plateau wetland in China. The Huanglong Valley at the foot of Xuebao Ding Mountain resembles a huge yellow dragon, hence the name. Enjoy the peaceful time and stunning natural scenery in Huanglong.

Huanglong Scenic Area

Visit the heaven-like Jiuzhaigou Valley. Both Huanglong and JIuzhaigou are UNESCO World Heritages. Jiuzhaigou nature reserve was built mainly to protect rare animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys and their natural ecological environment. Appreciate the jewel-like lakes, pools, streams, spectacular waterfalls and beautiful valleys.

Fly back to Chengdu.

Important notice: currently Jiuzhaigou is only partially open since the 2017 earthquake and is expected to be fully open after recovery. Meanwhile, as a result of the flight reductions, passengers can only fly into and out of Jiuzhaigou via Chengdu with night flight.

Jiuzhaigou

There will be not site visits arranged today, so that you can enjoy some free and relaxing time. Your guide and driver will pick you up at an appropriate time and transfer you to the airport for the flight to Guilin. The city is praised as the most beautiful place in China, due to the surreal karst landscape.

Wuhou Ancestral Hall

Board a luxurious ship down the picturesque Li River. You’ll cruise the most beautiful section of Li River, pass by rows of karst limestone peaks, lovely islands, vast farmlands, pristine villages and have the chance to see cormorant fishing.

Disembark, walk through the West Street of a relaxed, bustling atmosphere. Then spend the rest the day to explore the idyllic countryside of Yangshuo. Ride a bike along the rivers, farms of crops and primitive villages, and luxuriate in the sheer beauty of nature.

Enjoy Impression Liu Sanjie night show, performed in the outdoor with real landscape as the backdrop (optional).

Li River cruise

Visit Reed Flute Cave, the most spectacular karst cave in Guilin, featuring a grand, mystical underground palace of a series of stalactites and stalagmites, lighted up by gorgeous colorful lights. With sedan chair, even the little kid and senior travelers can tour reed flute cave easily. Later climb up Folded Brocade Hill for a superb panorama of Guilin City, embraced by jagged karst hills.

You will be driven to the airport and fly to Shanghai.

Folded Brocade Hill

Start Shanghai city tour with a visit of Shanghai Museum, a fabulous ancient Chinese art museum with tens of thousands of precious relics, including bronze ware, ceramics, calligraphy, painting, etc.

Then tour Yu Garden, a fine example of Jiangnan classical garden with fascinating artificial landscape consisting of pavilion, corridor, rockery, wood carving… And walk the old streets of Yuyuan Market, where the traditional Chinese-style architectures remind people of its ancient traditions.

Later learn from your guide about Shanghai’s colonial culture when on the Bund, where you can see an array of 19th Century colonial architectures. Across the Huangpu River is the Lujiazui Financial District. Ascend Shanghai World Financial Center, one of the highest buildings in the district, for glitzy city view of Shanghai.
