Day 2: Tashkent, Spend a full day exploring Tashkent. Visit the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, Amir Timur Square, and Tashkent Metro. Overnight in Tashkent.
Day 3: Samarkand, Travel to Samarkand (about 2-3 hours by train or car). Visit the iconic Registan Square, Gur-e Amir Mausoleum, and Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Overnight in Samarkand.
