Good morning! Be ready to start your exploration after a sound sleep. Begin the day tour with a leisure wander on Tian’anmen Square, where you could see the Five-star Red Flag fluttering. Continue your walk, and you will reach the emperor’s home of Ming and Qing dynasty, the Forbidden City. It is like a treasure house and your journey in it is a treasure hunting journey.

Hungry? It is lunch time. Lunch will be arranged in a local restaurant. After that, drive to Temple of Heaven in the afternoon, the ancient altar for good harvest in Ming and Qing dynasty. You will not listen to the ancient stories about it, but also appreciate the fabulous buildings here.

After breakfast, drive about 2 hours to Xizhazi Village, which is the starting point of your Great Wall hiking, located at the foot of Jiankou Great Wall. You will walk about an hour via Zhenbei Tower and then reach Jiankou Great Wall, from where you will continue hiking about 2 hours via 8 towers to Mutianyu. Depending on your energy, you could choose to hike on Mutianyu for a while. –cable car and the toboggan are available for you to get down from the wall if you want to save some energy. Just ask the guide to arrange that for you. 

This is the end of today’s hiking. The driver will transfer you to Gubeikou in about 1.5 hour. Tonight, you will camp on Haowang Tower on the Gubekou section of the Great Wall.

How do you feel camping on the Great Wall? Get up earlier to enjoy the sunrise on Gubeikou Great Wall. After a simple breakfast, continue your Great Wall hiking. This is a long day but the walk is relatively leisurely compared with yesterday’s hiking. In about an hour, you will reach 24-eyes Window Tower after passing 10 towers. In another hour, you will need to come down from the Great Wall to Madi Village in order to avoid coming into the military area.

After walking along a path through cornfields for an hour, you will reach the wall again at the Jinshanling section. This section offers stunning view and good photo opportunity in different seasons. Over 15 watchtowers in various styles and in good condition can be seen here.

After an hour hiking on Jinshanling Great Wall, come down from Zhuanduokou Pass and then be transferred to Beijing hotel.

Drive about 15km from the city centre and take in the stunning view in the imperial summer resort, Summer Palace. Except for the chilly winter, boat cruise is usually available in the Kunming Lake, which allows you a different angle to see the garden. Yonghegong Lama Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist temple in the northeast, corner of Beijing, which was first built in 1694 as the residence of Prince Yong of the Qing dynasty.

In the afternoon, you will have a leisure tour to explore one of the symbols of Beijing – Hutong. A leisure walk is nice to get close to the local lifestyle. Visit a local family to listen to their interesting stories in the courtyard houses. During the tour, you will have the chance to see the ground calligraphy show.
