If this is your first visit to China and your time allowance is about 2 weeks and you are interested in ancient Chinese culture, landscapes and modern China, then this is the right itinerary for you. You will explore the Forbidden City, Tianmanmen Square, the Temple of Heaven and more. You will stay at The Commune Hotel by the Great Wall located at the foot of Badaling Great Wall section. You will fly to Xi’an, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties and the starting point of the Silk Road and once the largest city in the world. Here, visit the Terracotta Warriors Museum and highlights of Xian. Then visit Guilin, regarded as the natural and most beautiful city in China, with picturesque karst mountains rising from tranquil rivers and rice paddies. The last stop is Shanghai, China’s most dynamic city and a must see.

Customizable Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Beijing arrvial
Arrive Beijing, be greeted by your personal guide and driver and be transferred to your hotel, have a welcome dinner and a Beijing itinerary briefing. Stay in a luxury five star hotel or similar luxury hotels near Wangfujing Street, or boutique hotels in the Chinese style.

Day 2 Morning Tai Chi class, Temple of Heaven, Sacred Road, Badaling Great Wall
A Tai chi class by a personal master at Temple of Heaven to start your day, then drive about 1 hour to visit the Sacred Road. Afterwards head for Badaling Great Wall which takes about half an hour. Stay overnight in the Commune Hotel by the Great Wall and explore the wall and enjoy a sunset if the weather permits and a starry, starry night that cannot be seen in the crowded city.
Tips: you can choose to visit Mutianyu Great Wall, the section which is less touched and more original, about 2.5 hours driving one way. The drive to Badaling Great Wall takes about 1.5 hours one way.

Day 3 Badaling Great Wall, tour hutong lanes by rickshaw, Peking Roasted Duck dinner,Kung Fu show
Get up early before the sunrise, enjoy the spectacular Great Wall at Badaling Section and do some short hiking on the old bricks before it becomes crowded. After a shower in your hotel, be driven back to check in your hotel near Wangfujing Street, continue to do a leisure tour to the Hutong lanes by rickshaw. Enjoy a Peking Roasted Duck dinner and Kung Fu show in the evening.

Day 4 Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Summer Palace with cruise, Peking Opera
Morning tour to the Tiananmen Square, the largest square in Asia, and visit the Forbidden City in about 2 hours by foot, as well as Jingshan Park where you can have a bird’s eye view of it. Explore the Summer Palace and take a cruise on the lake in the afternoon. Enjoy a Peking Opera in the evening.
- A lot of walking is involved today because the selected sites are huge and no vehicles are allowed. Expect rough blue bricked pavements inside The Forbidden City. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
- Use the hotel bathroom before the day tour starts, try to avoid public toilets. Our selected restaurants are equipped with clean flushed or squat toilets.
- Shopping is an optional but not compulsory, you can skip it as you wish.

Day 5 3 hour flight from Beijing to Xi'an, Muslim Street
Arrive at Xian Xianyang International Airport and be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. Stay overnight in a luxury hotel in the old city in Xian, easy to explore Muslim Street by foot. Have a welcome dinner and Xian itinerary briefing.

Day 6 Terracotta Warriors Museum, Ancient City Wall, Gao Family Courtyard with puppet show, dumpling dinner, Tang Dynasty Show
Up-close visit to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, lunch at a fine local restaurant nearby; enjoy an Ancient City Wall tour for about 2 hours biking or 40 minutes open air electric golf car, explore the GAO’s Family and enjoy watching a Puppet Show there. Have a dumpling dinner and enjoy the Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.

Day 7 2 hour flight from Xi'an to Guilin
After lunch, take an flight to Guilin; be met and escorted to your hotel, stay overnight in either the Sheraton or Shangri La. Have a welcome dinner and a Guilin itinerary briefing.
- Tips: The Sheraton hotel has the best location and it is easy to explore downtown on foot. The Shangri La hotel is about 20 minutes far away from downtown by taxi.

Day 8 Reed Flute Cave, Longji rice terraces
Explore the Reed Flute Cave in the morning, drive to the Dragon’s Back Bone (Longji), and enjoy a sunset of the terraced fields and smoking villages. Enjoy a quite night by staying in Li-An Lodge, the best boutique hotel there. Have your dinner at a local restaurant or in the hotel.
- The hotel is located inside the scenic area, a public bus is arranged to take all tourists from the gate up the mountain, the ride on hilly roads lasts for about 10 minutes. Then you will need to walk with your guide to get to the hotel in the mountain, it takes about another 10-20 minutes. The baggage will be carried by local farmers (fee is included in quotation).
- Hotels in Longsheng County are usually built with wood, wood floors and walls don’t promise soundproof functions.
- Mind your step as there are hundreds upwards steps from the parking lot to your hotel; you can pay for a sedan if you want to experience it and you can pay for your luggage if you want to hire a porter; bring some anti-mosquitoes bite medicines.

Day 9 Morning hike from Pingan Village to Ancient Zhuang Ethnic Minority Village, Huangluo Yao ethnic minority village

Day 10 Li River cruise, Fuli Ancient Town
Take a 4 hours cruise on a big boat from Guilin to Yangshuo, disembark in Xingping ancient town, forget about having lunch on board, instead be met and lead to a village besides the Li River and enjoy a local lunch at a farm. Explore the Fishing Village and the ancient town in the afternoon, drive to Banyang Tree Hotel in the ancient town of Fuli; staying in the hotel offers you close contact with the Li River.

Day 11 Fuli local market, Yangshuo countryside tour, Yangshuo Park, West Street, Impression Liu Sanjie night show
Explore the Fuli local market and old streets in the morning and drive to Yangshuo. You can do the Yangshuo countryside tour by taking an open air electric golf car. You can visit the Yangshuo Park and climb the hill to have an overview of the town, visit a local family and explore the West Street in the late afternoon. Then enjoy the Impression Sister Liu and drive back to Banyang Tree Hotel in the evening.

Day 12 Xianggong Mountain, 3 hour flight to Shanghai
Drive to Xianggong Mountain (a form of address for one's husband), located besides the Li River; try some kumquat en route if it is in season, climb about 15 minutes up to the top andenjoy a breathtaking view of the Li River, the villages and the small hills and clouds. You will lunch there.

Day 13 3 hour flight from Guilin to Shanghai
Arrive at Shanghai airport, be met and transferred to your hotel for a Shanghai itinerary briefing. Dinner is your arrangement. Stay overnight in a luxury five star hotel in Shanghai.

Day 14 Yu Garden, French Concession, Shanghai World Financial Center, evening Huangpu River cruise
Visit Yu Garden and Shanghai Museum in the morning. Then after a fine lunch in a local restaurant, tour to French Concession and take an amazing overview of the Pudong area atop the Shanghai World Financial Center; enjoy an evening Huangpu River cruise.

Day 15 Xitang Ancient Water Town, sampan cruise, Shanghai acrobatic show in the evening.
Drive to the Ancient Water Village Xitang whose buildings are set along the banks of the canals, which serve as the main transportation thoroughfares in the older parts of town; take a sampan cruise to experience the old transport. Lunch there, drive back to Shanghai in the late afternoon. Enjoy an acrobatic show in the evening.

Day 16 Shanghai departure
Take a Maglev train to the airport and the logistics will be taken care of by us. Service ends.
