
The top of the Nine-Dragon screen is covered with glazed tiles and popped up by glazed arches. It stands on a firm diamond throne which is 2.09 meters high with 41 images of two dragons playing with a pearl. Its middle carves sculptures consisting of 75 glazed bricks, in the shape such animals such as of ox, horses, dogs, deer, rabbits, etc. They are all colorful and lifelike. The layout of the screen is well-designed in proportion. It’s simple, but solemn.
The screen is 8 meters high, 2.02 meters wide and 45.5 meters long. The main body of the screen alone is up to 3.72 meters high. Nine lifelike flying dragons are nicely carved in the screen. The dragon in the middle of the screen is the supreme one of all the nine dragons. With his head facing upward, he wags his tail back and forth. His body, yellow in color, is shining with his scales. On both sides of the supreme dragon fly another two dragons, forming a vivid and touching picture. The space of between the dragons is filled up with the images of stones, mountains, waters and grasses. These images and dragons are complementary of one other. On both sides of the screen are images carved of the sun and the moon, which are made up of 426 unique colorful components.
A pond is dug out in front of the screen. It is 34.9 meters long, 4.38 meters wide and 0.8 meters deep. A stone bridge crosses over the middle of the pond making it convenient for people to cross. When the dragons are reflected in the pond, they are given life and move in the water.
