With a favorable location in Central commercial and financial center, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong is a time-honored top deluxe hotel.
Originally established in 1963, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong was entitled Mandarin Hotel. Together with Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (under the name of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group), it has been credited as one of Asia’s best hotels over these years. It successfully accommodated a number of politicians, including the British Queen, the late Princess Diana, the former U.S. president Nixon, etc.
Having been renovated with 1 billion Hong Kong dollars, Mandarin Oriental Hotel was reopened on September 28, 2006. The renovation project has upgraded a hotel’s modern facilities and excellent services while maintaining elegant Chinese elements and Eastern style. The hotel expanded another three stories, which houses the spa center featuring the architectural style of Shanghai back in the 1930s. Also, the award-winning English designer Sir Terence Conran was appointed by the hotel to be in charge of the renovation of the Mandarin Grill. The windows of the Mandarin Grill were reopened afterwards so that guests can appreciate its 1963’s original design and overlook the landscape of Queen Square and Chater Garden. VONE, the restaurant on 25th floor, was superseded by PIERRE, the first branch store of Pierre Gagnaire (staffed with the three-star chef Michelin). Here in the hotel, you will have the most deluxe and the coziest rooms, the most scrumptious foods and the top spa center.
