Ron Peak's Beijing and Xian Tour

Lydia,

The services your company provided were very good.  The transfer at the airports and train stations went very smoothly...well done.

My tour guide (Summer) in Xi'an was EXCELLENT.  She was a great translator.  Summer had an excellent handle on English and some slang language used in English.  I was interested in a bracelet for my wife and found one I wanted. However, it was more than I wanted to pay.  Summer negotiated with the jewelry seller and was able to settle on an acceptable price.  I appreciated her effort then and now.  Also, it rained the entire day and she was in extraordinary spirit all day, despite getting soaked by the rain.  She was very good in explaining where we were going, how long it would take to get there, where we would eat, and very helpful in taking pictures with her phone and forwarding to me on my phone or email later.  I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a knowledgeable and clear speaking English tour guide in the Xi'an area.  I would recommend First Class only on the train trip to Xi’an and back.  The second class seats are very small for Americans, who tend to be overweight.

My tour guide in Beijing was not as well spoken in English.  On several occasions I had to repeat myself or asked her to repeat what she had said.  It could be my old ears (which means I am old and do not hear as well as I once did). She was very well versed on all the tours we experienced.  Meals were good, we had plenty of time to experience each tour site without feeling rushed, she was very lively and passionate about the history of China.  She was also extemporaneous about many places we did not stop but wanted me to experience that specific site or building.  She was very attentive when she saw I was out of breath on the Mutianyu Great Wall trip and stopped and recommend we take a break.  She also negotiated with the vendor on an item I wanted to purchase.  It would be good if your tour guide told your customers that the prices on the items for sell are negotiable.  That was of help to me and determined if I would buy or not.

Your private transfers were excellent at both the Airports and the train stations.  If you are new to China (as I was), it is comforting to know there is someone expecting you and will see that you make it to your designated hotel or place you are going to visit.  Good job on the private transfers.

I appreciate your flexibility in working with me.  Since I was flying on American Airlines as an employee, I had to come on a plane where there were empty seats.  You did a good job being flexible and made multiple tentative plans for multiple options, should I not make a given flight.  Good job on giving me many quotes, based on my changing schedule.

Overall, it was a good experience.  You may use any part of my text as a recommendation.

Thank you for all your efforts.
