Old Zhengxing Restaurant is a local time-honored restaurant in the Fuzhou Road which was operated in 1908. The traditional and classical shopfront is very outstanding and the dishes it sell are very genuin in taste. The famous dishes are shrimp with sea cucumber, Caoyuan Quanzi (pig's intestine). Meilong County Restaurant is a time-honored Shanghai dishes shop strongly recommended. It is a very characterized shop for its old-timely decoration. The dishes there don't focus on the appearance but cooking materials which present the original flavor. Zhenru Mutton Restaurant is as same as in 1980s with old fashion benches, oily tables and shabby walls which seems that era is marking time here. Noodles and mutton are served separately. Big muttons braised in soy sauce are needled with thick line together in the soup. The mutton is sweet and its skin is soft due to the contribution of strings. The noodles are handmade in a flat shape with the clear soup and taste delicious and elastic. The price of mutton noodle cooled with soy sauce is RMB 12. Baotai Noodle House is one of the best 24-service noodle houses in Shanghai. The soup in this shop is cooked with thick oil and dark soy sauce. The side dishes are fried instantly which are tasty and sufficient in quantity. It is very busy at the lunch time. The average expenditure is RMB 15.
