Zhiren Street

Zhiren Street

Lying next to the Id Kah Mosque, Zhiren Street of Kashgar in Xinjiang is the most distinctive place of handcrafts. The 1,000-meter street assembles hundreds of handicraft workshops and stalls. It is regarded as a special exhibition center of Kashgar and Central Asia.

Traditional handcraft products on Zhiren Street are world-famous. The variety of man-made products range from delicate caps, time-honored embroidery, dazzling jewelry, centuries-old woodwork, simple and age-old potteries, red coppers, to rich-colored and soft silks and fine musical instruments. Altogether these items can be found in other places.

More tourists domestically and abroad have been attracted by special features of Zhiren Street. Walking along Zhiren Street is like watching a documentary about the local customs of the Uygur people.
