The Peninsula Shanghai
The Peninsula Hotels introduced its ninth hotel, the spectacular and iconic new The Peninsula Shanghai. Gracing Shanghai's celebrated Bund and styled after a 1920s and 30s noble residence, the hotel reflects the city's heritage as "the Paris of the East." Architect David Beer, formerly of BBG/Architects, and Paris-based interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon of PYR have blended subtle Chinese influences with a modern interpretation of the Art Deco movement into the 235 superbly appointed guestrooms and suites, which are among the largest in the city.
