Dixi Drama is often called "sorcerer's dance in a trance" held from January 11th to 15th of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is a local drama among Buyi Minority in Anshun City of Guizhou Province. In the Ming dynasty, the Ming troop set up 24 Military Stations and 26 Thousand-household Garrisons in Guizhou, among which 3 stations and 2 garrisons were in Anshun. The soldiers in military administrative communities were called "tun-pu ren"(station people) according to historical evidence, and it was because of them that the Dixi drama was created.

Dixi drama was a kind of folk drama played among the station people, in which wood carving masks were used. The origin of Dixi drama was related to the living situation of the station people.
