Located in the southwest of Suzhou City, Panmen Gate is one of the symbols of ancient Suzhou. Now an important part of the Panmen Scenic Area, Panmen Gate is the only gate of both land and water in China. On top of the gate, one can see the canons of the Qing Dynasty and a stone portcullis that was once used to block the gate.
