Karen: 16 Days Beijing, Xian, Yangtze River, Shanghai, Yiwu and Hong Kong Tour

Karen's Beijing, Xian, Yangtze River, Shanghai, Yiwu and Hong Kong Tour

Hello Grace,

I just wanted to follow up on our lovely trip with an email.  I am planning on writing up a five star TripAdvisor review later today.

The hotels you chose for us were all amazing, with our favorite being the Wyndham Grand in Xi'an.  It was exceptional.

Our guides Marco, Christina and Summer were personable, engaging, and well-informed. They made our trip very special and enjoyed telling us not only about history but about everyday life in China. I would highly recommend all three of them!

Alice and Sukie, who were two of our transfer guides were very friendly and helpful.

I would definitely change the long wait at the airport in Yichang.  All the other people from the cruise who were going on to Shanghai stopped for a leisurely lunch along with a walk in the park or a trip to a museum before coming to the airport.

Obviously Cecilia was not given the updated flight schedule and was therefore not there to meet us in Hong Kong. That was disappointing. We had very mixed feelings about Cecilia. On the one hand she was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us in many ways... got us great room in the hotel, arranged for late check out on our last day, and gave us great advice on taking the turbojet to and from Macau.  On the other hand, there was something about her manner which was somehow unpleasant, and so because of that I would not signal her out as exceptional. One odd thing that happened in Hong Kong was we were not given water. We asked for it, and there were unopened bottles in the van, but we were told that we could not have them.  Therefore we had to stop at a market to buy some for ourselves. Cecilia explained that you never gave her instructions to provide us with water.  This is something which should be fixed.

I apologize for questioning you about the refund I thought we were entitled to on the cruise. I realize now what an exceptional deal that upgrade was. Only $200 for 3 nights for such a luxurious cabin!  The crew treated us like royalty!

Thanks for your making our trip so wonderful!

Many thanks,

Karen
